I need a tactical flashlight
Tactical flashlights are not just helpful during an emergency, but they are very useful for self-defense too. Their very bright light can temporarily blind someone who is threatening you, giving you time to get away.
They most likely have bezel edges as well, that you can use to hit your attacker’s critical body parts. Indeed, a tactical flashlight is a must, and you may want to purchase one, but not the LuxPower Tactical V300 LED Flashlight!
You heard me, I don't recommend the LuxPower. It's not a bad light, especially for the price, but my concern is that too many are buying it on that criterion alone – price.
So what's wrong with that?
Nothing is you just want to look for dust bunnies under your sofa. But, if you need a tactical flashlight that you can depend on and want it for some critical need like identifying a home intruder in the dark, you might want to learn a little more about tactical gear before you depend on the wrong light.
Want a review of the LuxPower? Check out my review of the J5 Hyper V tactical flashlight as it's essentially the same light. Kind of a “horse by a different name.”
I'm not totally knocking the light. For the price you get what you pay for and like I've stated if you're hunting dust bunnies, you're in the right place.
But what if you need something for more critical needs?
That's a different story.
Here’s a light that can be used in home invasion type emergencies. This tactical unit, the Klarus XT2CR is specifically programmed to provide immediate momentary bright light at 1600 lumens, and a disabling strobe – two feature necessary to this type of situation. You can read more about this light here.
So you can learn to make the best decisions to protect you and your family in these uncertain times.
